DebtPrepAI is an educational technology platform that provides AI-powered financial analysis and document preparation to help users prepare for Debt Management Plan (DMP) discussions with certified credit counselors.

What We Do

• Aggregate credit reports, bank transactions, and user-provided financial information
• Analyze debt load, payment capacity, cashflow patterns, and hardship factors
• Generate educational budget sheets, hardship letters, and intake forms
• Provide DMP payment estimates based on typical nonprofit program parameters
• Prepare document packages for review by certified credit counselors
• Provide referrals to nonprofit credit counseling agencies

What We Do NOT Do

• Credit Counseling: We do not provide personalized financial advice or credit counseling services
• Debt Negotiation: We do not negotiate with creditors or handle debt settlement
• Payment Processing: We do not handle client funds, process payments, or act as an escrow agent
• Guaranteed Outcomes: We do not guarantee debt reduction, creditor approval, or DMP enrollment
• Legal Services: We do not provide legal advice or bankruptcy assistance

Regulatory Compliance

DebtPrepAI operates in compliance with:

• Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) - soft pull credit access with user consent
• Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA) - privacy and data security requirements
• Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) - AI transparency and explainability requirements
• 11 U.S.C. § 109(h) - hybrid AI-human model with required counselor certification

No Steering or Coercion

DebtPrepAI presents educational information about DMPs and alternatives (bankruptcy, debt consolidation, DIY repayment). We do not steer users toward any specific outcome or receive compensation for DMP enrollments. All enrollment decisions are made by the user in consultation with a certified counselor.

Data Privacy & Security

• All personally identifiable information (PII) is encrypted using AES-256 encryption
• Credit reports are automatically deleted after 90 days unless you opt in for longer storage
• We do not sell your data to third parties
• You can request deletion of your data at any time

Limitation of Liability

DebtPrepAI is not liable for: inaccurate credit reports (contact the bureau), DMP rejection by creditors, counselor decisions or advice, or financial outcomes resulting from user actions. All estimates are approximations and not guarantees.
